Top Quotes on Motherhood That Every Mum Should Read

Ok, full disclosure is that I am on holiday for a friends henny right now, so I made this cute simple blog to be posted while I’m away. Trying to keep up with weekly posts, and nothing will get in my way.

Anyway, I thought what mother doesn’t love a mum quote??

Ever since I had my first child, I have loved them, they resonate so deeply with me, and I just thought well if I feel this way surely there are some other mums out there that feel the same.

Then again, I just love quotes in general, and always have. My friend Iona can contest to this I remember when we were like 14 and would send each other these deep profound quotes on life, and then post them to twitter as if we were Socrates, and Plato passing on our wisdom to the world- which makes me laugh now.

Being a mum is so incredibly challenging, and sometimes a little quote can go a long way at giving you a much-needed lift of energy.

So, here I have compiled my top quotes on motherhood (in no particular order), that I have seen over the years.

This one is so important, I never want my children to question their worth, and my hope is that they will always know how amazing they are. I think this quote is what inspired me to tell my children how smart, kind, and caring they are every single day without fail.

2.

It genuinely makes me saddened that this poem has no author because it is simply beautiful. I remember where I was the first time I read it- my own mothers sitting room.

Once I read it, I cried. I remember everyone in the room just looking at me, and I tried to read it to them while Kieffer (a new born baby I will add), slept in his Moses basket. Some of these things I hadn’t even done once yet, but here I was crying about the last time??

Now many of these things have faded for me and have become lasts. I know I must cherish the ones I have left, a couple weeks ago Kieffer had a bad dream and wanted to sleep in our room. Instantly my husband responded ‘no’, to which I said ‘come on, this might be the last time he ever asks, so we squeezed over and let him in.

And we had the worst sleep of our lives, but I still loved every minute.

3.

This one kills me, I used to get so emotional looking at Azalea, thinking about how she is my last, and the older she gets the more I realise I’m not ready for ‘lasts’.

4.

This quote tends to motivate me to be the best mother I can be, I can almost feel a sense of regret from it, and it motivates me to be the best mum I can. I would hate to look back on life with regrets- especially when it comes to my children.

5.

Motherhood changed me in the best way imaginable, it showed me what true unconditional love meant, it showed me strengths I did not know existed within me, it made me a better person.

People love to tell you negative things and try and bring your happiness down. So, naturally they focus on the bad aspects of motherhood, and damn is there some… lets say… ‘challenging moments’. And, yeah, you will change, you will yearn for a lazy morning, a couple hours extra sleep, to enjoy hot cups of tea again, for tantrum free shopping trips. But I can guarantee you would not trade your life for anything in this world, you will learn what unconditional love truly is.

6.

Lets face it nobody wakes up and thinks 'I really want to be a crappy mum today', but some days you just don't have the energy to give it 110%. But my hope really is that my children will know I always had the intention to be 'super mum', even though there were days where I fell short.

7.

Ok I'm not advocating getting pregnant really young here but I must say I do feel lucky that I get to love my kiddos for a little longer.

8.

I always want my children to feel no matter what happens in life that they can turn to me, that I will always be there to help them deal with life's problems.

So, when my six year old gets upset that Hannah Montana revealed to the world that she was in fact Miley, or my son wants to give me a 30 minute talk about his latest Lego creation then that's ok. Because it may be little details to me but to them it is important.

Motherhood is a journey that has its highs and lows. It can be challenging, overwhelming, and exhausting at times. However, it’s also a journey that is filled with love and laughter.

In this blog post, I’ve compiled a list of my top quotes on motherhood. These quotes have served as a sort of beacon of light to me on some of the gloomier days that come with motherhood, and I hope they can do the same for you.

Whether you’re a new mom, a seasoned mom, or a mom-to-be, these quotes will remind you of the beauty and strength of motherhood.
